Solemn Holding of 2016APMCMPrize Giving Ceremony and Mathematical Modeling Teaching and Training Seminar
2016 APMCMis a discipline event of university students in Asian-Pacific Region jointly held by Hebei Field Statistics Society and School of Mathematics. The period of this Contest is four days, the participants are the full-time university students at school and the team is composed of 2-3 university students. The contest problems and materials are English, and the students should answer the questions in English.
1,330 teams from 237 institutions of higher learning all over the world have participated in this Contest. The overseas institutions of higher learning include Chonnam National University, University of Houston, Nanyang Technological University and University of Macau. There are 31 “985” and 67 “211”institutions of higher learning in China participating in this Contest. According to the review by the experts, 6 teams obtain the outstanding prize, 72 teams obtain the first prize (about 5%), 200 teams obtain the second prize (about 15%) and 328 teams obtain the third prize (about 25%).
On April 8, APMCMPrize Giving Ceremony and Mathematical Modeling Teaching and Training Seminar were solemnly held in North China University of Science and Technology, Tangshan, Hebei Province, China.
As a grand conference in the mathematical modeling field which integrated 2016 APMCM Prize Giving Ceremony, the 20th Anniversary of Mathematical Modeling of North China University of Science and Technology, and Mathematical Modeling Teaching and Training Seminar, this conference was hosted by Hebei Field Statistics Society and School of Mathematics, organized by North China University of Science and Technology, and co-organized by Global Saile (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.
About 300 teachers and student representatives from more than 50 institutions of higher learning, including Professor Xiao Huayong, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Professor Wang Xiaoyin, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Tiangong University, Professor Yuan Jian, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Southwest Jiaotong University, Mr. Luo Yigan, Principal of School of Mathematics, Mr. Li Qinwei, CEO and Founder of Saikr, Professor Liu Baoxiang, Chairman of Hebei Field Statistics Society and Director of College of Science of North China University of Science and Technology, Professor Wang Leizhen, Vice Chairman of the Society, and Vice President of Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, and Associate Professor Yang Aimin, Secretary-General of the Society, attended this event.
In the opening ceremony, Professor Xu Ying, Vice Director of Dean’s Office of North China University of Science and Technology, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the University, Professor Liu Baoxiang made an opening speech, Mr. Luo Yigan, Principal of School of Mathematics, the Host, and Mr. Li Qinwei of Global Saile Technology Co., Ltd., Contest Co-organizer, addressed a speech for the conference, and Professor Chang Jincai, Vice Chairman of Hebei Society of Industry and Application Mathematics, introduced the analysis and scoring standard of Problem B in this Contest.
Professor Liu Baoxiang, Chairman of Hebei Field Statistics Society, and Director of College of Science of North China University of Science and Technology made an opening speech.
Professor Chang Jincai, Vice Chairman of Hebei Society of Industry and Application Mathematics, introduced the analysis and scoring standard of Problem B in this Contest.
Mr. Luo Yigan, Principal of School of Mathematics, the Host, addressed a speech.
Mr. Li Qinwei, CEO of Saikr, Co-organizer, addressed a speech.
Afterwards, the prizing giving was carried out. At first, the prize for excellent organizational unit was given. In this Contest, 15 universities were given the prize for excellent organizational unit. The representatives from Anhui University of Finance and Economics, North China University of Science and Technology, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, Shandong University of Science and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology, Northeast Agricultural University and the like received the prize on the stage, and Xu Ying, Vice Director of Dean’s Office of North China University of Science and Technology gave the prize to the representatives of excellent organizational units. After that, the representative of excellent organizational unit, Professor Zhu Jiaming from Anhui University of Finance and Economics, delivered a speech as the representative of excellent organizational unit.
The excellent instructor prize was given. In this Contest, 20 excellent instructors were appraised, and the instructors attending the conference included Zhang Zhanguo-Northeast Agricultural University; Zhu Jiaming-Anhui University of Finance and Economics; Hu Jing-Civil Aviation University of China; Liu Jianbo-Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao. Professor Wan Xinghuo, Director of Contest Committee and Vice Chairman of Hebei Field Statistics Society, gave the prize to the instructor representatives. Zhang Zhanguo, excellent instructor representative, delivered a wonderful speech.
The excellent volunteer prize was given. In this Contest, 197 excellent volunteers were appraised in total, and the representatives on site included: Gao Fang, Yang Shulei, Li Tianlong, Cheng Feiyu, Chang Jingjing, and Li Yuhan. Professor Xiao Huayong gave the prize to the excellent volunteer representatives.
The third prize in 2016APMCM was given. In this Contest, 328 third prizes were appraised. The third prize representatives included: Liang Wei, Sun Lizhi, Gu Jiaojiao, Qu Qi, Gao Sijin, Gao Yu, He Hongdan, Han Jinxin, Zeng Lingzhou, Zhang Zheng, and they received the prize on the stage. Mr. Luo Yigan and Professor Yan Feng gave the prize to the teams respectively.
In this Contest, 200 second prizes were appraised. Professor Wang Xiaomin gave the prize to Wang Qianping, Li Wenda, Cheng Feiyu, Zhao Shuai, and Yuan Xiaoyi, the second prize representatives in 2016APMCM, and Professor He Chunjiang gave the prize to Feng Xianlei, Dong Xuechao, Chang Jingjing, Ren Chengran and Liang Shibo, the second prize representatives.
In this Contest, 72 teams obtained the first prize. Professor Wang Xiaoyin gave the prize to Zhang Yu, Wang Yue, Ma Wei, Ni Huiwen, Xu Peng, Li Ang and Xiong Feng, the first prize representatives. Professor Yuan Jian gave the prize to Yang Shulei, Gao Fang, Bian Minhua, Xiao Tong, Zhao Bo, Qu Hengheng and Li Tianlong, the first prize representatives.
The first prize students received the prize on the stage.
In 2016 APMCM, 6 outstanding prizes were appraised. Mr. Li Qinwei gave the prize to the team and representative of Civil Aviation University of China, Professor Liu Baoxiang, Chairman of Hebei Field Statistics Society, gave the prize to the outstanding prize representativeof Northeast Agricultural University, and Professor Ji Qing, gave the prize to the representative of North China University of Science and Technology. After that, the outstanding prize representatives: Zhou Jinhui-Civil Aviation University of China, Fan Xing-Northeast Agricultural University, and Long Yan-North China University of Science and Technology delivered a prize-winning speech.

On the afternoon, Professor Wang Xiaoyin, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Tiangong University, gave a wonderful speech on the Construction and Practice of Mathematical Modeling Course System, deeply discussed the construction and design system of Mathematical Modeling Course and communicated with the site experts based on the mathematical modeling teaching experience for years, which was praised by the experts.

Professor Xiao Huayong, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Northwestern Polytechnical University, gave a wonderful speech on the training method for mathematical modeling contest, which was not only for the teachers but also provided professional direction guidance for the modeling study of site students so that the students can better find the study direction in the modeling study, and provided a study direction for the training system construction of organizational unit of mathematical modeling on site.

Professor Yuan Jian, Head Coach of Mathematical Modeling of Southwest Jiaotong University, gave a speech on preparation and organizational method for campus contest of mathematical modeling, and provided a reference example for the preparation andorganization of modeling of institutions of higher learning with Southwest Jiaotong University as an example, and promoted the further optimization of preparation andorganization of modeling contest of different universities.

In order to cultivate the students’ innovation awareness and ability to solve the practical problems by mathematical method and computer technology,the application for the Seventh MathorCupMathematical Modeling Challenge for University Students in 2017 hosted by the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, Class I Society of China, has been started. The institutions of higher learning are welcomed to organize the students to apply for the Contest subject to the contest regulations and relevant regulations.
