Invitation Letter for 2019 APMCM

Dear Leaders, Teachers and Students,


The ninth APMCM will be held this year. The application deadline for this Contest is 12:00 at noon, November 27, 2019. This Contest will be officially held from November 28, 2019 to December 2, 2019. We sincerely invite you and your unit to organize the personnel to participate in this Contest.


2019 APMCM is a discipline contest of university students in Asian-Pacific Region hosted by Beijing Institute of Image Graphics and organized by School of Mathematics. The Contest is organized by the Organizing Committee of Asia and Pacific Mathematical Contest in Modeling. This Contest is for the students of institutions of higher learning in Asian-Pacific Region. In the eighth APMCM, there were 15,000 participants, and more than 360 institutions of higher learning, including 38 “985” and 101 “211” institutions of higher learning. Through more than eight years’ development, APMCM has become an influential basic subject and application technology event in Asian-Pacific Region.


The period of this Contest is four days, the participants are the full-time students at school of regular institutions of higher learning and the team is composed of 2-3 university students (one instructor may be provided). The contest problems and materials are English, and the students should answer the questions in English.


[Contest Schedule]

Application: today-12:00 at noon, November 27, 2019.

Contest: 6:00, November 28, 2019-9:00, December 2, 2019.

Submission of letter of commitment: 6:00, November 28, 2019-9:00, December 2, 2019.

Publishing of results: before January 30, 2020.


[Prizes]

In this Contest, the “class prize” and excellent organization prize and excellent instructor prize are set. The proportion is as follows:

“Asia-Pacific Cup” innovation prize: 4 teams (2 teams for each problem), RMB 1,000 bonuses/team+ certificate;

The first prize: 5%, certificate;

The second prize: 15%, certificate;

The third prize: 25%, certificate;

Successful participant prize.
